Soulology Week 2
I ended up doing two layouts because I wasn't 100% happy with my first go! I'm still not 100% with layout 2 either but I have to get ready for a Brownie funday so I have had to leave them for now.

Soulology project 1
Then as I have mentioned before I started my online scrapbooking course this week. It is called Soulology, run by Erika Stampin' mama and is a course all about scrapbooking yourself. Something I don't do a lot of as I am usually behind the camera!(on purpose) This weeks project was to list 100 things about yourself 50 likes, 50 dislikes. it took me a while to sort out my lists and then I had to get them on a page.
Here's my page for this week.
Cardstock DCWV, Chipboard letters from a QVC kit, numbers from inkadinkado foam retro alphabet stamps, stamped and embossed with versamark and white embossing powder.

Scrapcanvas for my beautiful daughter
I made this canvas for my daughter Gemma's birthday last week. She loved it! I have been wanting to try scrapping on canvas for ages and I am really pleased with it.
I've been Tagged!
Sandra has tagged me.
Now I have to tell you some things about myself...
1. I am a thin person living in a fat body! LOL
2. I have two beautiful daughters.
3. I hate housework and would much rather craft or do anything else!
4. I am single and have been for a long, long time! I am also a lot happier than a lot of my friends with partners!
5. I have just started an online scrapbooking course called Soulology and the course is all about scrapbooking yourself,a lot of soul searching and delving deep and telling your story! I am really excited about it, I think it will be a great learning experience and have already met some great people on the course. I am rubbish at journalling and I think this course will help a lot!
6. I love chocolate, crisps and diet coke!
7. I am a paper hoarder! I get them out to look at and put them all away again. One of the reasons I love scrapbooking is I can use my favourite papers and still get to look at them again and again!
Now I have to tag 7 people!
Jacqui at Cats Whiskers
Dawn at All Pink Girl
Kim at Simply Fairies
Erika at Stampin' Mama
Heidi at Create, Reach for Something More
Su at cornishmaidsu
and last but not least
Jude at crafts-International

Roast chicken for One!
The girls were not to be put off for too long and suggested going to a craft shop they used to go to before they found creative Pastimes. This other shop they said was very good when first opened but had gone downhill a bit since then. Being the only other craft shop in the vicinity we agreed to go to there. When we got there the girls were most surprised as it has been taken over and has been turned into a crafters' paradise!!! The Craft barn in Lingfield Surrey is now a lovely airy shop with loads of stock! lots of stamps, Ink pads, powders etc. Cuttle bug supplies, Bind it all stuff, Gorgeous papers and loads of scrapbooking supplies too much to mention! The staff were very friendly and it is now as they said 'a craft shop run by crafters for crafters' We were spoiled for choice and had to make some tough decisions of which things to buy now and which to leave til our next visit and I'm sure there will be many!! We are planning to check out some of their workshops and classes! They also have a website that you can order from which will be up and running from Monday. www.craftbarn.co.uk they also have two blogs for inspiration that I have yet to check out!
We had coffee and cakes in the coffee shop next door and later had a gorgeous lunch in a local pub. All in all it was a lovely birthday treat. thanks girls!
Score for the day 10/10
Creative pastimes - 2 customers
The Craft barn + 3 customers and a recommendation to all our friends!
So now to today. A day of relaxation, catching up with my trimcraft friends who I have been neglecting lately. A spot of blogging and a lovely roast chicken dinner! After dropping my mum off at the station on Thursday I really fancied Roast Chicken so I nipped to the shop and bought one for today! Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Roast Parsnips, Spring greens, Carrot and swede, sweetcorn, gravy, stuffing and even a few yorkshire puddings for the girls! That was my plan for today a lovely family dinner and a relaxing day on the web with a bit of crafting later on! The girls have now gone out and so I am still having a roast dinner with all the trimmings but I will be all by myself!( breaks into song! don't wanna be all by myself any mooooore!LOL)only joking! love the peace and quiet and I will have a lovely dinner fresh from the oven and they can have the soggy microwaved version later. Who wins in that deal? ME!
Hope you all have a lovely day too!

Papertake Weekly Sketch
This is the card my mum made for the papertake weekly sketch this week.
The flower is a new stamp mum bought at the big stanp and scrapbooking show at Alexandra palace last weekend. It is from a beautiful set of 3 flower heads made by Lavinia Stamps
Ruby red liquid pearls were added to the ends of the flower, sticker from a large Brenda Pinnick kit from QVC. Papers and ribbon from Stash.
Dutch Dare Challenge
This weeks Dutch dare challenge was to make a card for a boy/man. my mum is staying with me this week and this is the card she made.
The card is made from a cd by Lex craft supplies called 'For the men in your Life'
Ooh La La Challenge
This is my card made for this weeks Ooh la La challenge. The challenge this weeks was to make a card using 'wings'
The image was printed from my new Flights of Fantasy Cd made by Lex Craft Supplies. Design paper from costco. Cuttlebug embossing border and sparkles diamond glitter by PSX on parts of the wings although this does not show on photo no matter how many times I took a pic from different angles.
My rainbow
What is says about you: You are a creative person. You appreciate beauty and craftsmanship. You are patient and will keep trying to understand something until you've mastered it.
Find the colors of your rainbow at spacefem.com.
I am Blue- it's not as bad as it sounds
You Are A Blue Girl |
You are empathetic and accepting - and good at avoiding conflict. If someone close to you is in pain, it makes you hurt as well. You try to heal the ones you love with your kind and open heart. |
You are The Empress
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.
